My Story

A long time ago…

I was born in Montreal, Canada, to my nearly Polish mom and “I don’t really know how to explain him in one sentence” European dad. Much of my childhood was spent laughing and playing with my younger brother. Using vast armies of G.I. Joe, Star wars, He-man and Lego, we spent hours in the basement creating empires of adventure and warfare. I was responsible for creating worlds and ensuring my brother didn’t eat the little pieces.

When my dad brought home one of the first personal computers, I quickly got sucked into the digital world. Career wise, my path was clear; first Pure & Applied Sciences in CEGEP and then Computer Engineering at McGill University. After graduating, I worked locally for a few years before moving to Boston and then to San Francisco. I returned to Montreal a few years later and started my own freelance company in Client Relationship Management (CRM). I first focused on Siebel CRM, and then a few years year, shifted to Salesforce.

Day 1 of my world tour

In 2015, I decided to pause the corporate life for a while in order to backpack around the world, solo. It was the experience of a lifetime, with a lifetime of stories to share. Not only did I visit 26 countries and 6 continents, I met my future wife while in Poland.

More recently…

Over the last years, my most enjoyable work-related moments are the ones shared while working with nonprofits. Somewhere in between making sure their mission-based goals are well designed and shaping their future, we seem to find time to share a few laughs. It’s this carefully balanced mix of business and pleasure that is so satisfying. The focus is not about egos, corporate financial incentives or anything inwards, but is about helping them to improve people’s lives.

I truly love what I do!

I know this because I would keep working even after winning the lottery (mind you, I don’t buy lottery tickets). I believe life should be spent doing what you love to do. And if you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life.

Here’s a quick though experiment: Imagine yourself with all the money you would ever need. Now, once you done with the world travelling and big splurges, how would spent the rest of your life? For me, it would doing exactly what I’m doing right now.
